Domestic Abuse News, Info and Research

In this section you will find information about new research, projects and news relating to LGBT domestic abuse.

Voices Unheard

The Voices Unheard Project was established by a group of young people from LGBT Youth Scotland to find out about young LGBT people's experiences of domestic abuse.  The peer researchers have been conducting research in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and the Scottish Borders to find out people's understanding, knowledge and experiences of domestic abuse in their families and their relationships.

The research will be launched in each of the local areas shortly.  The findings will be available following these launches.

Transgender Domestic Abuse Research

In August 2010 the LGBT Domestic Abuse Project and the Scottish Transgender Alliance released research that looked for the first time at transgender people's experiences of domestic abuse.  Click on the tab to the left for more information and to read the full report.
