Statistical Information

Research in the UK, the US, Canada and Australia figures suggest that approximately 1 in 4 LGBT people will experience domestic abuse. This is a figure that domestic abuse service-providers will already be familiar with in terms of heterosexual women.


Same-sex domestic abuse


"In the survey, more than a third of respondents (38.4%, 266/692) said that they had experienced domestic abuse at some time in a same sex relationship."

It must be noted that the research sample was not completely random and therefore these are not completely conclusive numbers.  They do however indicate that same-sex domestic abuse is a major issue.
